We acquired several Pikler climbers at random to compare their differences. Testing revealed that our climber is robust enough to support even an adult, thanks to its durable wood, ensuring longevity and years of reliable use.
At Goodevas, we recognized that to distinguish ourselves in a crowded market, we needed to exceed expectations. Our goal was straightforward: to craft a Pikler triangle that not only met but surpassed existing standards, enhancing the entire play experience for both children and their families.
A technical viewpoint: quality, safety, aesthetics
So why GOODEVAS Pikler Climber is better than other?
No foam or plastic is used in our packaging. And we took it one step further, designing a box that has a second purpose! Ittransforms into a puppet theater, making it not only sustainable but also fun and something that will enrich children's playtime and imaginations.
Synthetic packaging materials are seen in the market too often. That's so much bad waste!
The first thing that caught our attention in this market was that, despite often being made from natural materials, Pikler triangles typically came in packaging that wasn't environmentally friendly. We made it our mission to change that!
No protruding screws!
We fixed it: the screws are inset, fitting into grooves. That makes the Pikler not only safer, not only more pleasing to the eye, but also sturdier. Those dowels are set in place!
Exposed screws can cause scratches on the skin when in use or scrape walls/other items when in storage.
Turning our attention to the product, we focused on two crucial elements: SAFETY and AESTHETICS.
The protruding screws were an immediate concern. Exposed screw heads jutting out from the plywood are far from ideal. Firstly, they pose a safety hazard: a child's clothing could snag on them, or a toddler might accidentally graze an arm against the sharp metal. Secondly, from a visual standpoint, they fall short. Instead of presenting a sleek and charming appearance, they impart an unwelcome industrial feel.
The quality of the finish
We ensure thatthe finish is of the best quality. It's not just safer; it also looks better!
Rough edges look poorly and can cause scrapes or splinters.
You know the saying: the devil is in the details. Or rather in the lack of them.
Getting the overall design right and finding the most optimal structure is no easy task. We give credit where it is due. But some stop right there. However, GOODEVAS isn't about that: we're not finished until EVERY aspect is finished.
Just like… the finish. The processing and treatment of the materials. You may not notice that edges are a bit rough at first – until someone gets a splinter.
We take our quality control very seriously. The surfaces must be smooth, the edges – sanded down, and the corners – rounded. We don't approve of anything less.
Quality of the climbing stones
The Ramp are glued on with extra-strong specialty glue that holds the Ramp in place while allowing to achieve a truly aesthetic look.
It is very difficult to hold onto a structure that is not solid; a child’s foot can slip at any moment and the child will fall.
Not only did we make our climbing Ramp multipurpose, but we also paid a lot of attention to their design and aesthetics. The pieces are smooth and generously coated in child-safe paint, making the look and feel of the ramp playful and engaging. Plus, there are no screws, making the look even more appealing.
Securing the ramp to the climber
The grooves in our ramp fit over the dowels perfectly. Security belts are fixed on both sides, preventing the ramp from deattaching even during the most active of play.
This type of groove is very questionable. It does not have additional fastenings, because of this the child may fall during active play:(
Attaching a ramp to the climber is a brilliant concept, opening up new dimensions of play and enabling the creation of a toddler play gym. The key question is: does it attach securely enough? We've encountered various types of ramps. Some hook onto a dowel with a horizontal bar, some use belts, and others have rounded grooves that grip the dowel. At Goodevas, we ensure stability by securing our components with strong ropes, providing a firm and reliable structure.
The coating
A child-safe coatingcreates a smooth, pleasant surface and protects the part of the climber that will face the most wear.
Without varnish, the dowels might get dirty and wear faster.
Another crucial aspect is the treatment of materials. While we champion the use of natural elements, we also understand the necessity for durability and resistance to daily wear and tear. Therefore, we chose dowels that are specially coated—not with just any varnish, but with one that is safe for children.
The user guide must be clear and helpful
We made our guide as clear as we could, complete with step-by-step instructions and tips on use and care. Plus, the design is pretty cute!
More often than not, the instructions we see on the market lack clarity and attention to detail.
Clarity is the most important requirement for a user manual. If it’s easy to understand and follow, you’ll assemble the product in no time and save yourself a headache. That’s what we worked hard to achieve. On our YouTube channel there is a detailed video assembly instruction, if suddenly the printed manual does not seem clear to you!
Another aspect is usefulness. Assembly instructions aren’t the only thing in our guide: we described how to best use the product and how to get the most out of every function, with some helpful tips sprinkled throughout. We want you to know how to use it to its full potential. We truly hope it makes the process as easy as possible!
